Klune-V
Interview with
Rick Wiltfong

What
about the Klune-V?
"Like it - low gear ratio, happy with quality. Very happy
with customer service."
Describe
to me your vehicle - what you've done to it and how you've set it
up?
"I have a 1970 International
Scout with the factory 392 motor, a 727 auto transmission, Klune-V
model "David" Extreme Underdrive, New Process 205 GMC
transfer case, Dana 80 rear axle, Dana 60 front axle. I plan on
putting in a Howe hydraulic power steering."
What
kind of wheeling do you want to do with it?
"Pacific Northwest trails
which have lots of steep hills."
Tell me
what you thought it was going to do before you put it in?
"I knew it would put the lower
gear ratio way down."
Tell me
what you found out it did since you put it in?
"Takes a lot of brakes to stop
it which took some getting use to. Everything as expected."
Have
you done any particular runs or obstacles using the crawler?
"A local trail 'High Rider
Trail."
What
experiences have you had using the crawler you think others might
be interested in knowing about?
"Even though it's a little bit
more expensive, it is stronger and better quality and has lower
gears compared with other brands made overseas. They are poor
quality. It is an excellent product and the strength is
excellent." |
